PROJECT
We were brought in to lead the design of a new Commodities Trading and Risk Management (CTRM) system for a leading agriculture commodities trading company.
The system was to be built from scratch and would replace existing third-party legacy systems, which had become inefficient for the needs of the business.
PROCESS
The scale of the functionality spanned the full gamut of front, middle and backend roles, including trading, operations, contracts and settlements. Setting up the initial design framework covered a year’s work.
We worked closely with the business and in-house business analysts to envision how the platform would work and spent a series of workshops defining the workflows from the point-of-view of individual users.
OUTCOME
The system is still in development, with some functionality having been launched, such as the trade capture features.
